May Program 2025

The Beatitudes in Matthew’s Gospel offer us a timeless guide for living lives of faith, compassion, and hope. They call us to bring out the best in ourselves — in our personal lives, in our relationships, and in our ministries. This May, we invite you to join us in exploring the connection between The Beatitudes and the charism of St. Eugene de Mazenod.

St. Eugene lived the Beatitudes in word and action. From a young age, his heart was drawn to the poor and abandoned, and his life’s mission was shaped by a desire to bring God’s love to those most in need. His example reminds us that holiness is found in the ordinary acts of kindness, courage, and compassion we offer to others.

Over four weeks in May, our program turns to St. Eugene’s story — from his earliest experiences of compassion to his leadership as founder of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate — and pairs it with reflection on two Beatitudes each week. Together, we will reflect on how these values can shape our own lives and ministries today.

This program is designed to be flexible and accessible — ideal for use in parish groups, youth ministries, schools, Oblate communities, and personal prayer. Whether you gather as a group for shared reflection, incorporate it into your ministry meetings, or journey through it on your own, we hope it becomes a meaningful resource for nurturing faith and mission where you are.

We encourage you to take a look at the program and use it in ways that suit your local community — as a resource for formation, prayer, and practical outreach inspired by the heart of St. Eugene.

Together, let’s continue to be Pilgrims of Hope, guided by the wisdom of the Beatitudes and the enduring witness of St. Eugene de Mazenod.
